#Erlang / OTP R14B for #EPEL 5

Hello All.

As someone of you already know, there is somewhat outdated (but stable) Erlang/OTP version in EPEL – R12B-5. This annoys many folks who would like to combine the latest features of Erlang R14B with stability of RHEL 5.x and derivatives. Before today the only way to improve this situation was to grab tarball from erlang.org or clone git repository from Erlang’s GitHub page and recompile it by yourself. Now I would like to introduce you another one possible scenario – install Erlang R14B from repos.fedorapeople.org.

I provided only i386 and x86_64 builds for EL-5 – hope this is ok for almost all interested people. As for EL-6 I believe that we should upgrade Erlang from R13B to R14B directly in the main repository.

Ok, no more talking – just go for it, install and report about issues (if any).

Thank you Peter. There’s a R13B build in our company repository now. Next time our engineers ask me for a newer build, I’ll just grab your build and go have a beer instead of building it myself 🙂

Thanks Peter, I failed to build erlang R14B from source code on my Centos 5.5.
